I've decided to contribute with my own tutorial...so I am going to teach you how to make your own sparkly names! The same steps can be used to glitter an image as well. ;)

You'll need to make your text image with a paint program such as MS Paint, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP or Photoshop.

If you want to practice first, use the image below. Save it to your hard drive and have it handy:

So we already have the Welcome text we plan to glitter.

Next we need some glitter, so I am including a few colors here. Save them to your hard drive too, because you'll be using them later.

After you have saved the text image (must be saved as GIF) and the glitter, let's go to the following link:

MagicStudio

1) Use the BROWSE button to search for the text image you want to glitter. You can either look for it on your hard drive or paste the URL for the text image you wish to glitter in the URL box. Then click on the VIEW button. After clicking on that VIEW button, it'll take you to the screen show below. While on that screen, click on the COMPOSITE button (see arrow)

Image

and it will take you to the screen shown below (make sure you follow each step in the assigned order):

Image

So once you get to Step 4 and you click on the COMPOSITE button, you'll go to a new screen that will look like the screen show below. Remember, your animation won't work at this point, but that's to be expected. You are not quite done yet! ;)

So...click on that Output button....

Image

And it'll take you to this screen where you'll have to click on another Output button! (See arrow below):

Image

Once you click on that output button, it'll take you to a new screen where you'll FINALLY get to see your animated text.

Now click on that animated text and it'll take you to another page where you just see your animated text. You are all done! Just save your image and upload it!

Here's the my image!

Have fun trying and feel free to show off your little creations in this thread! :bouncy:

If you have any questions, post them here as well. ;)

I think I'm doing something wrong.

I can do it fine with your files, but when I try to use my own text file I get a glittery rectangle instead of glittery text.

Did you make sure to save your text file/graphic as a transparent .gif? That's key ;)

Would you mind posting the image you were trying to glitter? ;)

Tanya - if you could post yours too, it'll give me a better idea of what's going on. :bouncy:

With some pretty purple glitter I found on the internet.

It's missing the transparency. Anything white in that picture needs to be made transparent instead.

I've cleaned up the white area, as well as some grays in this image, retaining only the black, if you give this a try it should work. It looks a little pixelated because the grays are gone, but once it's glittered, that won't be noticeable. It always happens with solid colour images (the pixels stand out more).

Yep, what Sir Nakor pointed out. You need to make your image transparent (No background, just the text) . :bouncy:

How do I make it transparent? There was a checkmark next to "draw opaque".

I'm so confused when it comes to this stuff!!!

There you go!! Love the purple btw! :dgrin:

Let me ask you this - are you using MS Paint to create your text? Which paint program did you use to make the text?
