Tai Chi or Kickboxing?

Post by Ingrid »

If you were given the choice to enroll in either program, which one would you pick and why?<

Kick boxing. I like yoga better than tai chi. And I find kick boxing more exciting than tai chi.

Kickboxing, no question. Much more exciting. "Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony."<

I'd take regular boxing... <

Tai Chi I suppose -- I wouldn't be into kickboxing.<

Of those two, Tai Chi, but only if it's the kind used for self-defense (sometimes it's only used for meditation and relaxation, and I don't care about that). I've already taken enough karate to invalidate the need to take kickboxing. Besides those two, gimme Aikido. Now THAT'S self-defense. You can fling people around with incredible ease, speed, and fluidity with Aikido, even if they're much bigger and stronger than you. Muaha. <

Well there's kickboxing as in actually kicking each other. And there's cardio kickboxing, which is an aerobics workout with martial arts moves.

Yeah, that's true. I wonder which one Ingrid was talking about? <

Personally, I don't prefer to do anything like that. I know enough about hand-to-hand combat to hold my own, and besides that, God made all men different, but a gun equalizes all. <

You're right. When everybody's dead, we're all pretty much equal.

That Tae Bo kickboxing is annoying just because it's Tae Bo. But I'll try any other kickboxing work out class.

>Bug~ Have you taken any Cardio Kickboxing classes before? If so...how was it? Did you end up
uising a lot? I am asking this because I've heard that if you are not careful with the moves, you could get bad injuries. Edited by: Ingrid at: 1/27/04 4:11 am<

I don't know it they do this in health clubs in the States. But spinning is really fun. Basically you ride a spinning bike for an hour on dance music. And you can add resistance in that hour to get a really good work out.
