MUCK FIAMI! REDHAWKS SUCK!

This weekend
ought us the long-awaited hockey matchup between the Ohio University Bobcats and the hated Miami of Ohio Redhawks. Well, the series was a total whitewash for the Bobcats, except for the fact taht biased refereeing in the first game gave the game to the Redhawks in the form of a 2-2 tie. The Bobcats were up 2-1 with about 2 minutes and change to go in the game, when lo and behold, the refs decide they're going to prove to the crowd that they bet on the Redhawks and give them a stupid 2-man advantage, which is almost impossible to stop, especially considering we played a backup goaltender (Miami is a division below us, so we should have manhandled them...they appeared bigger than us sizewise, but we hit better than they did and therefore took out bigger guys with ease.) Needless to say, Miami tied the game with 14 seconds left, forcing a tie and drastic measures for the next night.<
><
>I returned to Saturday's game armed with my
and new hockey stick (it isn't uncommon for OU hockey fans to
ing sticks and other hockey artifacts to the games; in fact, they make great noisemakers) and with OU armed with their starting goalie. He put up a wall in front of the net, making a saave on every shot except one el cheapo shot with about 3 minutes to go in the game on a bullshit 4-minute power play (why is it that two guys commit the same infraction, yet our guy gets a double minor and the other guy gets a misconduct, and they don't lose a player?) It didn't matter, though; we were up 5-0 when the bullshit penalty was called, thus giving me and my fellow OU fans the chance to bang our hockey sticks on the arena's bleachers.<
><
>Yay. So at least OU managed to beat the school I affectionately call the Great Satan in something before they come into our football stadium and beat us handily in two weeks. Of course, hockey is a greater sport than football, so our victory is greater than theirs will be.
