What are you playing right now?

Multi - Console Video Game discussions. From the ancient days of Atari to the current generation of PS5 and XBOX Series X. And of course PC and Mobile. What are you playing right now?

One of my few additions to this thread...NFS ProStreet.

Nice game and challenging enough, but since I'm more into racin'n'really pimpin' my rides when it comes to that subgenre, I think I should keep an eye on Juiced 2. ;)

Did you ever invest in Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition,
Wavemeister? It had a great deal of customizati-
on and more enjoyable races (though more to-
ward unrealistic/arcadey action), not to me-
ntion fast paced. Still playing that game t-
hese days along with NFS: Hot Pursuit 2.
Both of which represent the style of r-
acing I'd prefer. Currently, the only
racing title that keeps me active
is Flatout: Ulltimate Carnage o-
n the 360! I am completely a-
bsorbed in this one becaus-
e I always had a soft spo-
t for destruction derby
type games, and thi-
s seems to be the
best one releas-
ed so far in m-
y opinion. H-
opely I can
play mor-
e after
work.

Still obsessed with Mass Effect, here! I'm already looking forward to a second playthrough, too! This one I'm doing it as a true hero and paragon of virtue  Second one I'm gonna do it full on renegade to see what happens with the story  :dgrin: But it'll be a while as I'm doing every side quest and exploring every possible thing I can find!

Did manage some Mario Galaxy today though too and could see that as maybe my next... or I'll just try and work it in on the side of Mass Effect when I can :p

There are two types of racing games I'm into...the "serious" ones like GT4 and F1 which do need a good portion of skills on and off the road (and a steering wheel which buy is postponed until the cows come home... ) and the "fun racers" like NFS Underground 2 (which is in my eyes a bit more enjoyable than ProStreet), FlatOut 2 or Juiced.
I had hold the package of Midnight Club 3 DE in my hands already, but somehow the graphics printed on the backside weren't that appealing, and at least in the area I'm living there's no chance to check the game out before buying since most stores are maybe offering only the latest console gens for testing, and renting them is also out of the question after I had some hassles with the clerks of the local video store about the discs not working in my PS2 due to visible (!) scratches on the surface. They even accused me of being the one damaging the discs...so no renting out games anymore for me.

Visually, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition may not win any
awards, but what it lacks in polish compared to oth-
er better looking racers, it more than makes up f-
or in gameplay and intensity of actual races. T-
here are several short cuts if the player is sk-
illed enough to both find them and use the-
m since there is a risk for attempting to
use a short cut while blistering near 2-
00 mph that happens to be the sam-
e width of your vehicle when you a-
re not centered properly (laughs).
Not only is the single player mo-
de fun to play, but multiplaye-
r both online and split-scree-
n are even more exciting!!
If price is a concern, as o-
f this moment, it can be
found for less than $20
now, and if used, can
be even less. The D-
UB edition even h-
as an addition c-
ity that MC3 di-
d not (Tokyo).

Still playing Mass Effect as of this
very moment, although I may
take the time to get mor-
e involved in this titl-
e also. Metal Slug
is a tougher v-
ersion of C-
ontra I'd
say!!

Metal Slug Anthology (PS2)!

Finally decided to pick up The Orange Box, since there was a 25% off sale on it on Steam, and also got The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Currently playing through HL2, Portal, and TLG, while still messing around in Oblivion occasionally.

Congratulations, Nakor! Nice choice with Orange Box.
Not familiar with Dreamfall, though. I didn't know
you had Oblivion. How much progress did you
make in it, and on what platform? Just cur-
ious. In Oblivion, I still have not tried o-
ut the latest and final update, but m-
any more opportunities will unfold
after I progress more in Mass E-
ffect. Currently, I am on my
second playthrough. Just
trying to get my chara-
cter to level 60 bef-
ore completing i-
t. That is why
it is taking
me so lo-
ng this
time.

Well, my current Oblivion save has a time of 65:38:07 on it. I've done maybe half of the main quest. I don't know why, just haven't had that much interest to do it. I went through and did all the thieves guild quests instead, and I've been doing the mages guild ones too. All of the above games in PC version. Portal I just finished, HL2 I'm at, I believe, Chapter 3.

The Longest Journey is a really old game, one of the point-and-click adventure style ones. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is a sequel to it from 2006.

I think you're the first I've heard of that wasn't completely consumed by the Oblivion! Once I started that thing, it was hard to get away from it... I'd be playing every possible moment I could :gamer: Don't know how much time logged, but I completed all side quests and the main quest as well as one of the downloadable quests and the Shivering Isles expansion.

And now similarly, hooked helplessly into Mass Effect  Did you go through every system and explore every inch of everything your first run, Soloist? That's what's taking me a good bit to run through... at Virmire now, but didn't move forward til I explored EVERYTHING

Well, there was a friend of mine who works at a gaming store in my district
who really wanted to get into Oblivion, but might have only gotten on-
e achievement and has not played the game again since... but
he lacks the time to REALLY get into it without being dis-
turbed. I completed the Thieves Guild and Mages G-
uild quests later on and lastly was the Brother-
hood. With Mass Effect, I have complet-
ed the "good" playthrough first an-
d will become villainous duri-
ng my next try. I am al-
most finished my
second play-
throug-
h
and
can tra-
vel to Ilos
right now, bu-
t first, I want to
reach level 60 so th-
e the corresponding ac-
hievement point can be ea-
rned. Upon first playing Mass
Effect, I did try to unlock and di-
scover EVERYTHING, but there wer-
e 2 missions that I could not conclude
since I visited Ilos before I could get to t-
he. A bit of a warning for you, Roemello. If
you have other missions to complete, do NOT
visit Illos or Virmire... because either one leads
to a major part of the story which will affect whet-
her or not you can return to complete unfinished mis-
sions. For my next playthrough of M.E, I will be choosi-
ng the sinister route and will not attempt to collect too m-
uch. Just attempting to run through it. And since you get to
keep all of your items and abilities for the next playing, the ga-
me can be that much more easier. But I will be trying the Insane
difficulty setting which is said to be intense! We shall see. Have y-
out tried any of the updates for Oblivion such as Shivering Isles at a-
ll, Nakor... or even the unofficial patches which are available for the P-
C version? While the unofficials risk erasing your gamesave from your ha-
arddrive in a worse-case-scenario, some of the effects may work in your fa-
vor. There was one I read about that adds a rat-type being to be created while
another generates more creatures throughout the world. Too bad the 360 version
cannot take advantage of such creativity. I already have well over 200 hours logged
in for M. E, but it's mainly due to the in-game time still advancing while the game is p-
aused... and there were PLENTY of times where I fell asleep while playing only to awaken
with the controller in my hand (or on the floor... laughs). Probably only really about 20 hours.

Still Effectively Massive (laughs)! Actully, I
can conclude the game now, but I woul-
d like to get to level 60 before I trav-
el to Ilos (the final destination an-
d the games end). Currently at
59 with 200,000 more exper-
ience points to go. Have y-
ou downloaded any of th-
e other tracks in GH II
at all, Poison PJ? Go-
od luck with acqui-
ring Mass Effect
and Assassin's
Creed. Soloi-

ffecy!!"

Word to the wise PJ... as I'm sure Soloist will agree... play through Assassin's Creed FIRST because Mass Effect will consume you to the point of no return for quite a while :gamer:

In agreement I am to such a wise statement,
because Mass Effect is HIGHLY addictive
and after becoming familiar with the
structure, you may find it difficul-
t to return to any previous ga-
me that you have started.
I simply cannot go back
to my other holiday g-
ames until I have p-
rogressed more i-
n ME... and I a-
m on my sec-
ond playth-
rough. A
first f-
or m-
