The Brocken, the highest elevation of the Harz mountains (1,134 m) which is located about 130 kms southeast, had the first snow of this season - just about an inch. But temperatures are supposed to rise within the next days, so the snow is likely to melt again.

And as far as I'm concerned...I can do well without snow and freezing temperatures. Saves also some $ on the heating bill.

It's highly unlikely to see our kitties in the snow, since we have secured the loggia with a net - too many idiots who want to torture animals and kill them out there. The only chance is that they can play with the snow accumulated on the sill, but this happens only if stronger snowfall and higher winds are coming together.

Yeah...our local provider is rising the prices for energy again. Since 2003, our expenses for energy had almost doubled.
