*NOTE* This forum and feature has fallen into antiquity. Flash based games have become obsolete as have arcade extensions in the phpbb system. It was fun while it lasted!

I think that a scrolling shooter type game would be nice, I also played one of those on an Invision Arcade last year, though it was a bit too slow and had no sound.
Side scroll or horizontal? Or maybe I'll just do both... found a few, just gotta test and see which are best I couldn't believe I even found Gauntlet last night I just hope it works good

The one I'm referring to was vertical, but it would be nice to try a few different ones.
I like how we have a vertical-scrolling shooter now, but there might be even better ones out there that could work here. I think there's a Flash or Java-based version of Raiden II out there on Newgrounds or someplace. It's better written and more fun than the thing on here, and for that matter, doesn't spontaneously send you back to level 1 like this one does. Can we add games from other sites, or are all the games here ones from some kind of free game repository?
Well, in order for the games to track high scores, they have to be specifically modded for the phpbb arcade (or even the ibproarcade) systems. I CAN put other games not modded, but they won't track scores...

So what does that involve, anyway? Altering one part of the game code?
Altering a few things in it, yeah... which I could probably do if the games are editable with Flash 5... and if I can't, I can always have Ingrid give it a shot, but to do so, ya need the Flash source .fla to make the edit... there's no way to edit the actionscript on an .swf that I know of....
Never played Dig Dug, though I've seen it in arcades many times before. I think I'm at least half decent at Centipede, anyway. In the end, I'm generally best at platformers, racing games, and vertical-scrolling shooters. Puzzle stuff like Jewels and maze-type stuff like Pac-Man, I'm not so hot at, and games where you can't directly kill any of the enemies piss me off. For Bob's sake, gimme magic or guns or something so I can blow stuff up. Dig-Dug fits that category, actually, as does Burger Time in the arcade here. You can only kill the enemies by luring them under stuff and then dropping it on them, and then the freakin' things always just respawn anyway. Bloody wankers.
