I wonder how the Ducks Voodoo Curse will hold up against the next team. I hope the Canucks/Wild are ready...

At least I can rest assured that the Red Wings don't suck THAT much this year...after all, the Ducks knocked off another good team right after that.<
><
>The Wild might be forcing another Cloutier meltdown...that no-look goal by Brunette might have sealed the deal. But it's hard to say at this point...

Yeah, I saw the end of the Stars game, after getting pissed off at the 2nd period reffing in Vancouver. The discounted goal, albeit correctly called, has to hurt. x.x We had one just like that... I think it might have been game 1 against Minnesota. Might have been a STL game though. *sends Frasier a Zeeky bomb in the mail* <

I'd like to send that Ref a lot of bad things too. I think he watches his hair more than the games he officiates.

The only ref other than him that I can stand is Mick McGeough. I swear, he's a Vancouver-hater. We probably have a 0-20 record when he refs... x.x <

Frasier is the only one that really annoys me.... <

Is Frasier the one that is always worried about his hair? Edited by: Ingrid at: 5/8/03 4:35:22 am<

Was it just my imagination, or were the Vancouver fans actually booing when Gaborik got up off the ice after Ohlund took a cheap shot at him? If it's not my imagination, were those Flyers fans who borrowed Canucks jerseys to get into the game? Sheesh...show a bit of class, people.

Well, I didn't notice anything. But then, I was quite annoyed at the time, and ranting about how the refs should have gotten assists on a couple of the Minnesota goals, lol.<
><
>I still think there were bad calls in that game that threw it against Vancouver, even though they fell apart after the 3rd Minny goal (which came right after a hooking non-call in the Minnesota zone, preventing a player from getting back, for the record). Edited by: Nakor BlueRider at: 5/6/03 10:38:18 pm<

i was a ref for v4 years, and yes some are bad and some are good, but you hav to respect the job they do and the stress they have to handle, specially philly hockey fans and english futball fans. Laughing Bull spoke: "Swimming bird, do you know what your body is made from?"<
>I spoke: "I don't know. Probably some bird droppings that's rolling around somewhere."<
>Bull spoke: "Swimming bird, do you know what your soul is made from?"<
>I spoke: "I don't know. Probably some cotton dust that's rolling around somewhere."<
>Bull spoke: "That answer is wrong; yet right. Your body is connected with the universe; yet it is not. Your soul includes the entire universe; yet it does not. That is for me... and for everyone. If you hate someone, you hate yourself. If you love someone, you love yourself."<
>I spoke: "I don't feel anything towards anyone."<
>Bull spoke: "That is... the greatest misfortune on this earth."<

Mind you, Ohlund got away with that cheap shot just as Sopel got away with one earlier in the series...kilik might be able to give you an itemized list of all the shizam Vancouver's gotten away with, but those two come to mind. And the reffing is not going to make the difference in a 7-2 whitewash when Cloutier coughed up a top-shelf goal that Brunette didn't even look at. That might be triggering a Cloutier meltdown again...can't say it hasn't happened before...

I just wonder if the entire Ducks team will melt down after all the junk they have been through. I would think playing the Wings then the Stars would tire them out.

Maybe they can only beat teams that are seeded as high as the Stars and Wings...if they play the Wild, the voodoo doesn't work.

>Dude, during one faceoff (not in the circle, but one of the wingers) a Wild player headbutted a Canuck and got away with it. And remember that big hit on Sopel they seem to put on all the highlight reels? Take a good look where the Wild player's elbow is. So it went back and forth on those.<
><
>As for the whitewash, we had one of those against STL too as you may recall, and didn't bother Cloutier much. He has been much more mature over the last season, and I think he'll be able to recover. In fact, every time we've been scored on more than 5 times in a single game, we've won the following game every time this season. <
