Re: HOW'S YOUR WEATHER?

Post by Shawn »

Been very hot here 7 days of straight 100 degree weather which finally broke over the past weekend but only into the 90s.It feels better but still how.
The ground is so dry, grass is brown everywhere the drought is really bad around here.Farmers have started to mow their crops down since it is to dry for the corn to grow.We haven't had a very good rain since mid April.Last I heard,we are around 10" off the normal precipitation and it's not going to get any better anytime soon. The only thing that is nice is it's a dry heat and not humid, but still very hot.
It's very horrible here and hoping the winter won't kick us in the butt this year.

Still no rain here that measures anything, light sprinkles is about it since April. We are in the worst drought situation the weather service can give.
Corn here is all burned up,unless a field was irrigated then it was a total loss, even with the irrigation, there was some loss.
I've been to a few of the waterways around here and it's pretty bad.Our river, main supply for water will be dry by October if we don't get rain soon.We have like a dome built around us.Last night there was heavy rain all around us,it would approach us and die off then blow up after it passed. That's some serious dry conditions when the rain gets that close and falls apart.

I'm sorry to hear about the drought conditions that
you're experiencing, Shawn. We were hit with
a good deal of rain last week also, but in
our area, just a day or two was dedi-
cated to the drenching. Heavy d-
ownpours took place for min-
utes at a time but event-
ually cleared. Nothing
too continuous so
far. This week,
Tuesday, W-
ednesda-
y and
Friday a-
re the days
we are expect-
ed to receive rain
and thunderstorms, b-
ut again, I don't think th-
e severity of these storms
will reach levels indicating m-
ajor flooding, though isolated in-
cidences are always evident in such
events. Have you gotten rain since, Sh-
awn? What does the forecast say this week?

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumid. Overall temps aren't bad right now, but the air's so sticky and thick. I'd rather have 90 and dry than 80 and humid :p

We have a few days last week with nearly 100 percent
humidity which made for fun times at work (sarc-
asm), especially when coupled with warmer
temperatures (85, 90). Today won't be
so bad, but we are expecting show-
ers today (40% chance). With t-
he conditions that Shawn i-
s experiencing, I shou-
ldn't mind some ra-
in. I do hope th-
at he finally
get some
precipi-
tatio-
n.

I
am n-
ot a fan o-
f high humidi-
ty myself. The goo-
d thing is that the humi-
dity is 78% which isn't the gr-
eatest, but better than anything
above 85. "How's the humidity in you-
r respectively locations?" is my current query.

We've gotten frigid temperatures as of late. Every day
has been under 30 with AM temps in the teens an-
d wind chills sending the mercury into the neg-
ative zone! I've even read that we very we-
ll could see snow on Friday, but ultima-
tely, that depends on which directi-
on the pattern shifts. I'm hopin-
g that we don't get this dum-
ping because my commut-
e to work this week ha-
s been a bother, an-
d that's without
the weather
being a f-
actor.

By the way, it's currently
12 degrees F in my
area and by the
time I get off
from work,
it'll be o-
nly 10
de-
grees.
Time to d-
ress in layers.
I can use this co-
at right about now.

25F & snowing... moderately light for the moment. It's suppose to get heavier later tonight (~7 PM CST), but there's only a ~40% chance of that.

I feel a bit sorry for my friend in Lincoln, NE... where there's a 90% chance of heavy snow that there's a winter storm warning around there & I'm only getting a hit with a part of that storm.

At the moment, the temperature
here is 36 and is expected to
42 later today. We are su-
pposed to get a large h-
elping of rain today
and tomorrow. I
don't think co-
nditions wi-
ll be stor-
my th-
oug-
h.

(anyone else still getting snow?)

We went as high as 85 yesterday (WOW) and
we're expecting similar weather for th-
e most part of this week. Friday is
expecting some rain from my
understanding... but I do-
n't know if that will c-
ool temperatures
down some or
not. I gue-
ss we'll
see.

It's 1:25 am and already 72 degrees
with high humidity (just like ye-
sterday), but instead of rea-
ching the upper 80's, we
will be getting into 90
degrees later toda-
y! How is every-
one else doi-
ng weath-
