What are you playing right now?

Multi - Console Video Game discussions. From the ancient days of Atari to the current generation of PS5 and XBOX Series X. And of course PC and Mobile. What are you playing right now?

Just finished Mortal Kombat on PS3 today.... story mode anyway. Nice storyline tying the first 3 games of the series together  Next up will likely be Star Fox 3DS as I'll grab that tomorrow... along with the God of War Origins collection for PS3.

Congratulations on acquiring Starfox Pelord!
It's a shame you couldn't play it immedia-
tely, but I'm sure the vacation was wo-
rth the missed gaming time. How i-
s Santa Clara if you mind not my
asking? Tis great that you've c-
ompleted Mortal Kombat, Ro-
emello! I still haven't really
even touched mine (laug-
hs). So were you able to
get the God of War O-
rigins collection and
Starfox yet? I was
able to acquire
this, but now
I need time
to play it.
Maybe l-
ater fo-
r an h-
our.

I talk about my time in Santa Clara in Daily Chat ;)

I did take my 3DS with me, but I didn't really use it. I didn't run into anyone else with one, either. I actually did get some of those play coins or whatever they are, walking through the hotel a bit.

Understandable concerning the
notion to post Santa Clara d-
etails in the Daily Chat loc-
ation considering the fa-
ct that it's much more
active. I hope you've
used those coins t-
hat day, because
the coin count
restarts eac-
h day, so t-
he coins y-
ou don't
use pe-
r day
get's d-
eleted the
next day. I f-
ound that out t-
he hard way when
I first got my 3DS (la-
ughs). Usually when I'm
travelling, I rarely play my
portable systems (unless I'm
waiting for an extended period
of time or happen to be on a long
bus/train ride which rarely happens).
Have you tried Face Raiders as of yet??

Maybe I should read the fine print on those coins, lol. I haven't really played Face Raiders past the first day I bought the 3DS, it didn't really catch my attention (though it was a fun concept). I was actually hoping to luck out and get a random Mii through StreetPass during my trip, but I didn't have any luck with that.

I was able to get hold of a Game Boy Player for my Gamecube today, I've been trying to get one for a while. I got both the player and the startup disc for about $10. If you want to know why it was so difficult for me to get hold of one, try looking the thing up on Amazon, and see what crazy prices it goes for.

How has getting your consoles back online been going? I can at least see you've been playing Gears 3 on the 360.

My word! The Gameboy Player has reached
such extremes in terms of value, and in
my possession, it's collecting dust (la-
ughs). I didn't know the value incre-
ased so quickly since I really have-
n't been keeping track. That's g-
ood to know. I'm glad you wer-
e able to get one, Pelord, a-
nd for much less. Console
gaming has been a blas-
t, even if for only sho-
rt periods of time fo-
r now. I'm really ha-
ving fun with Gea-
rs 3! Sorry to lea-
rn that you hav-
en't meet any-
one using S-
treet Pass
so far. I
went t-
o NY
a few
months
ago and g-
ot 4... so I w-
ill have to trave-
l back there again
when I get the oppo-
rtunity again. Check o-
nline, because some peo-
ple arrange for specified St-
reet Pass meetings. I missed t-
he big one in NY back in July I be-
lieve. I'll have to check online as well.
I felt lethargic when first playing Gears 3
since it's been a LONG time since I tried Ge-
ars 2 or even another console game for that m-
atter. I'm slowly getting familiar with the controls,
but I definitely not ready for any online matches now.

If I ever get back to E3 again, I'm sure I'd get a few Mii's :P Not sure when I'll be back that way, though... (but apparently Google is wanting to have another gathering next year. Trying to get to both would probably take too much out of me, especially with only two months inbetween).

Was also wondering if you were going to try to get around to Castlevania HoD on the 360? (Fun fact: Castlevania's 25th anniversary is September 26th.)

It's great that you've actually attended an E3 event!
I still have yet to get to one, though if such an e-
vent takes place locally, I'll try my best to atte-
nd. Thanks for the reminder concerning Cas-
tlevania. I've completely forgotten about i-
t (since I was heavily in Gears 3 mode).
My hope is that one Sunday, I'll be ab-
le to get involved with Castlevania
HD. During the week, my sched-
ule is rather hectic, so at lea-
st on Sunday (early, maybe
about 4 or 5 am) I'd be b-
etter prepared to play
at some degree of l-
eisure. The 26th i-
s on a Monday, s-
o that'll be inte-
resting. I'll ke-

we'll see. I'll tr-

I can't really do early mornings, but I do have more time around the weekends (with Fridays and Saturdays off). Best way to let me know would probably be to send me a request on Xbox Live. The one person I played the game with regularly seems to be having issues with his Xbox.

And thanks for that link, I'll have to check it out later.

Drat! I was unable to get up on time,
and I'm sorry to hear that morn-
ings don't work well for you.
It's a shame that the on-
e you'd regularly mee-

is impossib-

unfort-
una-
tely. S-
unday is t-

hat I really can p-
lay uninterrupted an-
d Sunday early mornings
are completely ideal. Sunda-
y afternoons are difficult also b-
ecause I tend to take care of groce-
ry shopping, laundry and other tasks a-
t that time. If there's a Monday that I'm n-
ot doing anything or going anywhere, I'll let y-
ou know because I'm normally off that day, but o-
ftentimes I'd visit my g/f. Not every Monday, but m-
ost. I'll be back to post a bit tonight around 9:30 pm or:

(9:45... but not for long though)

Oh, and let me

Finished GoW: Chains of Olympus and halfway through Ghost of Sparta now. They did a lot better job bringing those PSP titles to the PS3 than the first 2 God of War titles! A lot more fun to play on the big screen, too. Gears 3 I may pick up next week, so that could be next on the gaming agenda.

Also have Star Fox going on the 3DS. And building up coins on that thing is easy if able to take the system along with ya. I took mine with me on various trips over the summer and ended up with almost 200 when all said and done. Also take it along with me to work, so it gets daily travel time. Managed to pick up 2 streetpass peeps going to work, another at the supermarket and a couple on trips to Boston. Very few & far between when it comes to that. Also have had a couple repeat pickups, though never actually figured out who these people are

I thought the God of War Origins collection
wouldn't be worth investing in, but I gue-
ss I'll have to do more research on it n-
ow. What improvement were include-
d in the Origins collection that wer-
e absent in the other collection I
ask?? Just curious. I wish that I
could bring my 3DS with me t-
o work, but we aren't allowe-
d to bring such devices to
work. I do carry it while
taking care of tasks a-
t home which builds
up the coin collect-
ion rather well. T-

instead of hiring
those level one dro-

e you tried this game ye-
t Roemello? I should be bac-
k here either tonight 11pm fo-
r a brief period or tomorrow mor-
ning 5 am if all goes well. Take care.

Difference between the original collection and this origins collection is purely graphic-wise... the origins collection looks a LOT nicer and smoother... almost as if it were full PS3 caliber, but not quite... close though! I just didn't think they ported the first collection over quite as well. Good, but not perfect.

And yes, I've tried the Find Mii and actually making my way along through that with a couple leveled up characters.

I've read that the cut scene weren't retouched at
all, just ported for the GOW collection, but I
didn't know that visually (gameplay-wise)
GOW collection suffered... especially
when compared with Origins. The-
n again, the graphics for God o-
f Wars 1 & 2 weren't bad on
the PS2. It's just a sham-
e that it didn't get the
same treatment Or-
igins did. As for
Find Mii, did
you unlock
any hat-
s so f-
ar?

ot back (and probably shou-
