Hi Everyone

Post by 80's fanatic »

I know I haven't been around alot in the past year or so, but I hope everyone has been well. The past 18 monthes have definately been a rollercoaster ride for me and my family, but we continue to 'weather out' the storms and move on. We've dealt with illnesses with my father-in-law, mother-in-law, my husband Jesse and I just found out a year ago that I have diabetes and asteo-arthritis in both my knees..... BUT we've had good come out also. My daughter Tiffany who will turn 20 on Feb. 24th just got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Chris on Christmas Day. He brought her to the place they met 6yrs.ago ( Their high school) at 12:10 am, dropped down on his knee and proposed to her on the school grounds. She of course cried and then said yes. We are very happy for them, and are currently helping them plan their wedding which will take place Dec.31,2011 at 4:00 p.m. We have already picked the location and still have to find the pastor & a DJ but other than that, we are waiting until next Jan. until we do all the other things that need to be done. We still have plenty of time, considering the wedding is still almost 2 years away. I am so excited for them both.

Jesse is still out of work due to his work related injury ( left shoulder) He has had 3 surgeries on his left shoulder, and still may have to have another due to another tear in his shoulder that his second surgeon is currently watching. It hasn't gotten any bigger yet, so as long as it doesn't he'll be o.k. He does, however, have to undergo another surgery on a completely different injury he suffered in 1997. He had a pallet of plastic patio chairs fall on his right wrist, 4 surgeries from 1997 -2004. In 2004 his surgeon from Boston, Ma. performed a partial fuse to his wrist. Sometime in the past few monthes Jesse broke his fuse, not knowing. We went back to his surgeon on Dec. 29,2009 because of constant pain and swelling of his wrist. They took more x-rays only to find that the screw holding his metal plates in place broke clean, not sure how that happened.... but we're waiting for the o.k. from worker's comp ( different insurance company ) so that that surgery can be scheduled in. This time the surgeon wants to completely fuse his wrist so that only his fingers and thumb can move. It will be a long recovery for him, but Jesse lost his job back in April of 2009 because they didn't have to hold his job as long as they did. We've been o.k. financially thank goodness. I'm still working the same job and my company is looking to expand soon so it could be a good thing.

My father-in-law is still in remission and my mother-in-law seems to be holding her own, so all in all things are definately looking up. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope everyone has a BETTER new year than last year. I want you all to know, that although I haven't been here all that much lately, you ALL are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I hope to be around a little more in the coming year and I'll keep you posted on the wedding.

At least it seems that overall, things are going better again for you and your family. Hope that this rate will keep going up steady. :thumb:

You bring the tickets, I'll bring on a night that no one ever will forget (have I mentioned that I've met my wife while DJing for the wedding of friends)?

It's a little too early for that since spring is a ways away yet. :p

It's nice that things are going better for Jodi though. :) Glad to hear the good news.

Thanks everyone..... this has been an exciting time definately. We haven't been making too many plans for the wedding yet, as we still have plenty of time still. It feels good to have things going good for a change :-)
