NoScript protects Firefox / Seamonkey users from ClickJackin

Post by TStodden »

It's been in the news how all the browsers are vulnerable to Clickjacking, which can cause others (usually people you DON'T want) to access your keyboard, microphone or even your webcam WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!!

NoScript (as of 1.8.2.1. Version 1.8.2.4, at post, has improved on this to reduce the number of false positives) has added ClearClick to their arsenal to warn you about potential ClickJacking & can stop you from falling victim of this.

See http://hackademix.net/2008/10/08/hello- ... ckjacking/ about ClickJacking & http://noscript.net for more information.

They've released ANOTHER update to help refine the ClearClick stuff. You'll likely need to go through the options to possible enable (or strengthen) the ClearClick security since you're upgrading more than doing a straight install, but I'm just glad that NoScript is at paranoid to protect us from the unknowns. :D

Updated. ^.^

I love NoScript. When I had to re-install after a wipe, it was the first thing I put back on FF.

If you had FEBE, you could restore your settings far more easily. I recently rebuilt my webPC and installed a clean version of WinXP Pro. I used FEBE to restore my settings. It worked.

Adding AdBlock Plus helps. WOT makes web surfing a lot safer. It is also available for IE7, for free.

I will note that the New Pop Cap website (or at least the Bejeweled.com mini-site) is causing some false-positives with Clear-Click... just so you know.
