Resident Owl and Mini Owl love to play with those fake mice and they'll bat them around like crazy. They love their foam and felt toys...and have a blast with the ball chaser toy.
Here's a video...both playing with the same toy at different times of course.
Yep. Sparky has a red mousie he bats from time to time. Miss Cecil has two small, striped mice she pulled the tail and ears off. I can't find them now (she "kills and hides" them. Sometimes in the hamper. >.> )
Yeah, Neelix enjoys toys also. He has a toy similar to the ball chaser that you posted those cute videos of, Ingrid, except his has a little mouse inside it. He's played with that toy so much that the mouse is completely bald. He also loves the little fake mice and anything that's spiked with catnip. I bought him a little wicker catnip-infused mouse the other day and he went bonkers for it. It was all slobbery when I finally took it away, hehe.
Here's a clip of Neelix with the wicker mouse...

I remember da owlage vid and mini owl is even bettah playing! She gets all into it and really follows da ball! For me, Stubby plays while Blinky can be a lazy bones most of the time I gotta get a vid of 'em up playing.
My cats have a basket full of toys, but Kisa doesn't really play with anything and Muzby mostly prefers things that aren't really toys, like wine corks and cotton balls. Both of them love the laser pointer though.
You tried your best and failed miserably. The lesson is, "never try."
Our cats doesn't really play with toys - exceptions: whatever items they can paw out of our shelves...and when we flash the laser pointer. The last item makes them go rad indeed.
