Anime Summer 2008 season: First Impressions

Is the angry alligator eating him?

[Frong]

No, but it does attempt to eat anyone who gets within a few feet of the guy. The alligator doesn't eat the guy because the guy is useful as a lookout post to help make it easier to see prey coming.

[Tanis]

Ah, I see. But wouldn't the guy notice that everyone around him is being eaten?

[Frong]

No, because he's an eedjet. I did say he wasn't even aware of the alligator on his own head, you know. Got any other ideas as to why somebody wouldn't notice that sort of thing?

[Tanis]

Natural selection?

[Frong]

Alkeehol?

A Flarby plot to take over the island?

[Frong]

Flarby? That's a who with the what now?

[Tanis]

Exactly.

[Frong]

So anyway, I got distracted by something or another at lunch today and forgot to watch the Clannad eps I put on my mp3 player. I think it was the Boss's Day cake. It's impossibly hard not to get distracted by cake.

[Tanis]

Yeah, but the cake also implies that you like and.or give a damn about your boss.

Unless it was poison cake, and you were distracted by watching your boss eat it and then promptly die. Then I could forgive you for foregoing Clannad.

[Frong]

Dude, you underestimate the power of free cake. Free cake triggers some kind of response in your brain that makes it almost entirely impossible to remain focused on anything else until you've finished eating it, and for someone like me who's easily distracted, that can cause big problems. Not that it matters much as far as free cake goes, but I actually do give a damn about my boss. He spends a ridiculous amount of time working every day both at the office and at home, which means if he's doing more work, that's less crap I'd theoretically end up having to do instead.

Anyway, I watched Clannad at lunch today, instead. So there. Nyah.

I was waiting for you to chip in with that, yes.

Anyways, how far you into Clannad now?

[Frong]

No, there really was cake, which means I got both cake AND anime and you only got anime. Nyaha.

Anyway, I haven't watched past ep 1 yet, because this anime season is way, way better than last season and has like eight shows in it that I'm watching. Have you guys checked out To Aru Majutsu no Index yet? It looks like it could be really awesome. I also keep having to spend my weekends and some of my evenings running around trying to finish getting crap to outfit my new apartments. It's getting on my nerves.
